The Freeman Spogli Institute
FACES is guided and sponsored by the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (FSI), Stanford University’s primary forum for interdisciplinary research on key international issues and challenges. Led by former United States Ambassador Michael McFaul and encompassing dozens of fellows and twelve research centers, FSI is devoted to understanding the problems, policies, and processes that cross international borders and affect lives around the world.

The Stanford Global Studies Division (SGS) is Stanford University's hub for education, research, and community engagement centered on exploring issues, societies, and cultures in regional and global perspective. The Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) is a research organization committed to scholarship that helps address the real-world challenges facing governments and businesses in the United States and around the world. Led by Trione Director Mark Duggan, SIEPR’s goal is to raise living standards and improve the quality of life by making economic policy more effective at all levels.
STANFORD king center on global development, CHINA PROGRAM
Dedicated to improving the lives of the world's poor, the King Center on Global Development is a joint research center between the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) and the Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies (Stanford Seed). China's status as a global power has made it a key player in alleviating poverty, and led by James Liang Director Hongbin Li, the China Program provides crucial insights into the critical challenges and real-world solutions that can enable continued and equitable growth in standards of living.
Stanford department of east asian languages and cultures
The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Stanford (EALC) is dedicated to study of the languages, literatures, linguistics and cultures of East Asia. Led by Professor Ronald Egan, EALC is the home of thriving programs in Chinese, Japanese, and East Asian Studies, and hosts numerous lectures, conferences, and workshops open to the public.
